Maybe, *you* didn’t just get a new house! Well, maybe you did… how would I know?!?… but alas, this card is not for you. What I do know is that my husband rarely requests a card, but a coworker/friend just bought his first house and he wanted to give him a gift card as a housewarming present. What better way to deliver the gift card but in a handmade greeting card. Now, this friend is something of a character. I actually made 2 cards for this guy… 1 that would be snarky, and 1 that was nice. Today is the nice card:
I love the look of 6×6 cards but don’t like to mail them out cause I never know the correct postage to put on them. If you didn’t already know, our lovely USPS charges more for a square card than standard sizes. Something to think about before you make 100 Christmas cards! I digress… Anyway, 6×6 cards are great for when you are personally handing the card to the recipient. I added a ton of layers to this one all to enhance this great paper by Doodlebug Designs in the Happy Harvest 6×6 pad I recently picked up at Archivers. The digi stamp was from an artist named Andy Bauer from years ago, which I colored with my Promarkers. A victim of over-blending, the colors are more saturated than I originally intended but at least they match the patterned paper! The inside of the card has just a little paper to carry through the theme, but I left it blank for my hubby to write a personal (and hopefully non-snarky) message. I resisted the urge to dress the card up with brads or ribbon since its going to a man… so, *sigh* its a fairly simple card. Stay tuned for the snarky card…
