Today’s card is the one I sent my BFF. She deserves something much more elaborate with layered die cuts, inking, embossing, coloring with Promarkers, or a special technique like Liquid Applique, Smooch, or at least Stickles. Alas, time and mojo are both in limited supply. What I lacked in technique I hopefully made up for in hardware 😉
The focal was from a 12×12 sheet of 3×4 double sided focal images by Simple Stories. I know she loves the rich colors of burgundy and olive, so I added a rich dark brown and a subtle gray to the mix with patterned paper from the ‘Tis the Season 6×6 pad by Echo Park. The focal and its mat were cut and embossed with Spellbinders Curved Rectangles dies. The focal, sentiment, mats and all the patterned paper were inked ever so lightly with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I love the stencil technique you can do with Spellbinders dies! The focal and sentiment were popped up on foam tape for dimension. The ribbon slide and and loops were from a hardware pack sold by Oriental Trading Company. The organza ribbon in brown and olive added the final touch. Here’s another look at the details:
Think she’ll like it? Hopefully it will be in her mailbox today 🙂 She’s not allowed to read the blog until after she gets her package! Lol! That is probably it for me until after the Christmas festivities, so I wish you all a safe and happy holiday! Hope Santa brings you all kinds of crafty goodies!!!
