December??? Now how did that happen when we weren’t looking?!? One minute we’re dying Easter eggs and the next we’re lost in a time warp of sleepless nights and bad dreams, and while we’re still foggy from the sleep deprivation they sneak in December! The way the rest of this year has gone, I wouldn’t put it past them. Now, where was I??? Ah, yes… December… the first Monday of December to be exact. And that means there is a new challenge at the Jan’s Digi Stamps Challenge!!! Well, at least there are some things we can still look forward to these days! To kick off this month’s challenge, the easy thing would have been Christmas card. But as a person with a December birthday, I know that birthday cards are needed… even in December, so I chose to use a Christmas set to whip up a quick birthday card!

This card pairs an accessory image from the Over the River Christmas set and a sentiment from #1 Dad to make this color blocked card. I thought these presents are just perfect for any time of year birthdays in addition to the Christmas set they were released with. I used Tombow markers to watercolor the images, then using a sketch (sadly now outdated… the unfortunate issue with working ahead to meet deadlines) from Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge (#397) I chose 3 matching colors of cardstock and stamped them all with My Favorite Things Lined Up Dots background stamp and Versamark, then heat embossing with white powder. I adhered the 3 panels, then matted the focal image and popped it up with foam tape. Simple, colorful, and quick to pull together. In fact, its took me longer to type this up than it took to make it!
