Angel of Mercy with Jan’s Digi Stamps

MisplacedMojo.com MisplacedMojo.com

Many of us are feeling helpless during this whole Covid19 thing… watching as doctors and nurses, EMTs and lab workers are putting themselves in harms way, hour by hour, day by day. As Jennifer McGuire says, card making is our superpower and I am some of my friends are putting ours to good use! Earlier today, Jan of Jan’s Digi Stamps released a free stamp set specifically for health care workers. It is called Angel of Mercy and the image is modeled after Jan’s own daughter, an ICU nurse in a major epicenter of cases. Pop over to Jan’s site and use promo code ANGEL to get this set of images and sentiments for free, and then start busting out cards for the staff at your local hospital, caregivers at nursing homes, and other front line health workers!

I used one of the pre-colored images for my card. I printed it once on my card base and again on copy paper to cut a mask of the image. Then I used Distress Oxide inks and a blender brush to ink blend through a stencil from My Favorite Things called Radiating Rays. Then using another MFT stencil, Clouds, I ink blended up from the bottom to “ground” my image. This is an easy card to make multiples of, so I’m heading back into the craft room to bust out a bunch more!!! Go get your free image set and make some cards for your local heroes! Be sure to share the link far and wide so other crafters have the image to use in their hero cards too. And if you don’t mind, pop over to the Jan’s Digi Stamp Facebook page to show Jan what you made and tell her who you are sending it to. Thank you kindly!

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

    • Thank you so much for the sweet words! I only wish I had a larger following to get the news of this set out there more. I was a bit disappointed to see *no* challenges for “hero” cards. Anything Goes challenges by the dozen, and a bunch of Spring challenges… but with the world in a pandemic and 151 countries currently battling it, not 1 “hero” or “healthcare worker” theme.

  9. This is so, so brilliant and I think a lot of crafters know someone who would feel appreciated to receive a card like this Karen. Will share a link on my blog.

Thank you for popping over to my blog to share your lovely story about your dogs. I love that your 1 year old pup makes ‘oooh’ noises when getting up! I wanted to let you know that Eva also enthusiastically chewed up the post when training to collect it in the early days but I persevered and now she is an expert and our post is safe! I think she just had to grow out of the puppy stage (when everything is fair game for chewing!) and then make the connection between actually giving the post to me to receive her treat lol!

    • Thank you so much for sharing the digi set Vicky! And yes, there is definitely some puppy left in this girl. We still get zoomies for no good reason. I was just so amazed that she managed to to shred the newspaper without really even trying and in 1.2 seconds had it all over the yard in her enthusiasm! I hope the neighbors were watching from the safety of their quarantine cause it was so stinkin’ funny how it simply exploded and that I was laughing like a loon! I plan on trying again with something less delicate!
