Have you ever checked out Beccy’s Place for stamps? Today I’m using a digi stamp from her Gingerbread set and I chose to make it into a shaped card! Fun, right?
I used my Silhouette to scale the digi to card size and to cut it out as well as an identical outline shape to use for the back of the card. I used Bristol paper knowing I would probably watercolor the image. I used Tombow markers to color not only the gingerbread house but a few images from the Pink & Main set called Cocoa Kisses. Once the card front was dry I added Nuvo pearl drops in all the places snow/icing would be, and added Cotton Candy Stickles to the places that would be candy. Here’s a look at the inside:
The sentiment is from the Pink & Main set mentioned above, as are the gingerbread man and assorted cookie shapes. I used the Nuvo pearl drops for icing again here. The lollipop was coated in Stickles and the icing on the cookies were coated in Nuvo Glaze. As a final touch, I used a black Sakura Glaze pen to trace the gingerbread man’s features to give them a raised, glossy look like icing.

Beautiful, Karen! I love the shape and that you made it to stand up. Did you know your post went live about 2 1/2 hours early? Just couldn’t wait to share that delightful gingerbread house, right? lol

I’ll have to check to see if my settings have me in the wrong time zone… I set it up exactly to match the time given in one of our notifications. If it had been 12 hours early, I’d think I neglected to check the AM vs PM. Oh, wait… I’m in EST and you are PST. I might have missed that bit. I’ll be sure to clarify/verify that for the January challenge. I also realized that others are submitting to challenges with their DT posts. I knew a woman on a DT for another challenge that wasn’t allowed to. I’m assuming you and Donna allow it, so I’ll submit to some once I finish revising the original DT post to remove the 2CCC references.

Aw Vicki, you are just the sweetest! But I am so embarrassed! I foolishly neglected to add a critter!!! In my head I was thinking I was adding one with the gingerbread men, but I feel silly now when it was pointed out to me that they are not critters. *head hanging in shame* I whipped up another card today and posted it as my GDT project. NC was going to update the post with the new card and I’m about to revise the original post to take the challenge stuff out of it. I feel like a total noob! I got so overwhelmed having to pick an image from Beccy’s site and totally forgot what I was doing! Lesson learned the hard way!!! 😲😣😓

Like the gingerbread card. Clever to make it in the shape of the house. Like that the gingerbread person is there to greet us as one opens the card.

I appreciate your sweet comment, but I feel like a dork! I neglected to add the required critter!!! In my head I had it covered with the gingerbread men but alas, they are not really critters. You’ll see I made a new card with one of Beccy’s images and Nana Connie has corrected the 2CCC post. I’m about to revise the original post to make it an ordinary post. I got overwhelmed picking images and totally forgot the purpose behind why we were picking!!! LOL 😳 So embarrassed!!!
