As part of the celebration of Art Impressions 32nd birthday, their monthly challenge this month is Birthdays! I chose to make a card with their Birthday Wishes stamp set. I paired it with a color combo from the July Daring Card Makers challenge, though I didn’t follow their challenge requirements, so I’m not submitting to them. I did a little bit of masking on the balloons, and then colored all the images with Tombow markers and a water brush. If it were not for the card panel being matted on a kraft card base, this would be a one layer card.
My dad and brother both have January birthdays, which I am notorious for not acknowledging with a card. I think I go into a post-holiday coma or something. LOL Anyway, I decided to be proactive and make their cards early.

OMGosh! You’re right!!! LOL I’ll be lucky enough to remember that I already made them…. finding them is likely to be impossible! I may just text them to expect a REALLY early birthday card in the next week!!! 🙂 Then its on THEM to remember in January that I already recognized their birthdays!!! Bwahahahaha!

Yes, I’m definitely prepared way ahead of time, but someone else pointed out my folly. I also have to remember where I actually *put* the card when January rolls around! I’ll be lucky if by then I still remember that I already made the card! LOL

My husband has an expression he uses whenever our computers, printer, or network is acting up or broken… “The mechanic’s car never runs and the shoemaker’s kids have no shoes.” Did I mention he was in IT?!? 🙂 So, by those standards, the cardmaker’s family receives no cards! Of course, the theory behind the expression is that the worker is so overwhelmed with work that they can’t bother with their own related needs. That is not really the case here, I’m just a dork!!! LOL
