I’m pleased to announce that all my presents are wrapped, all the Christmas cards mailed, and all the cookies baked. Whoo-hoo! OK, I had help from my awesome hubby to get the last of the presents wrapped yesterday, but I did everything else myself. With 2 whole days before Christmas with no lingering to-do list, I had some time to play with paper today!!! Check it out:
The Silhouette online store is having a 25% off sale on winter holiday shapes, and this cutie caught my eye. It was pretty straightforward to put together but there *may* have been some colorful language muttered quietly while working on the hooves and head… quietly, mind you… not total frustration. The results are worth it though. I enlarged this guy as large as possible on the 12×12 mat by ungrouping the shapes, rotating the design and placing a couple pieces on several mats. I highly recommend Zip Dry glue for all your 3D assembly needs. It gives you a couple minutes of working time, can be undone and removed if necessary, but forms a permanent bond when allowed to dry. It holds firm enough to let go after less than a minute (while still giving you time to adjust). Oh and the BEST part?!? You know how liquid glue always squirts out no matter how careful you try to be??? This rubs off with your finger, kinda like rubber cement, only better.
It was tough to photograph this guy… he stands 11″ tall to the tip of his antlers and is about 8″ long, and about 2″ wide. After assembling the reindeer, I decided to dress him up for the holiday with a red ribbon and jingle bell. Cute, right? If you should decide to try to put him together, the Silhouette store has a link to a tutorial, but if you’ve ever done a 3D cut file, you’ll get this one put together with only a *little* muttering under your breath 😉
