Sketch N Stash Challenge

I’ve been pumping out the Christmas cards this week!  Nothing like waiting for the last minute 😉  Today’s card is for the daughter of my best friend… the niece I never had. I was at a loss for a design, so it helped tremendously to use a sketch. I loved the current sketch from Sketch N Stash, plus it got me to think about what I could use from the stash that had been neglected.  I’m happy with how it finally came out!

I used patterned papers from a Paper Studio All Seasons 12×12 pad I’ve had sitting around for far too long… at least a year, maybe two… but cute colors for a girl.  The digi images are both from Elizabeth Dulemba, who you know I’ve been collecting from for years now. They were sweet enough for the recipient without (hopefully) being too kiddie.  I just love the cute little mouse peeking out of the stocking! They were both colored up with Promarkers, though I have to admit I’m not happy with the results… I apparently grabbed the wrong paper to print on cause the colors bled.  Had I not been pressed for time to get the gift $ in the mail, I would have redone both images.  Both images are popped up on foam tape.

The Happy Holidays stamp was from a Fiskars set just picked up this week from Tuesday Morning for a steal.  The Merry Christmas stamp was from the first Christmas stamps I ever bought… Christmas Owls(?) by Hero Arts, purchased at least 6 years ago.  The twine is only  6 months old but I should get credit for using it since there’s so much of it I’ll never use it all!  The card candi (also colored with Promarkers) is maybe a year old, and though not neglected, it too will never run out in my lifetime! Ha!

The die cut border was cut on my Silhouette, and I added a offset (shadow) layer to it so it would pop from the background better.  The money holder was my own invention, wrapping more of the All Seasons paper around a pencil and gluing as I went.  The money slid in easily when rolled up but won’t slip out until pulled out.

I am submitting this into the following challenges:

I’m also adding this to Elizabeth Dulemba’s gallery 🙂
